This year OAC New Zealand celebrated 50 years of the work in our country. These celebrations took place mainly in the centres where we have branches.
Supporters and friends attended at dinners or services to reminisce about God's goodness in evangelism over the years. There were stories of courage, funny stories and many encouraging ones about people who had come to Christ at OAC programmes.
There were accounts of the great men and women of God that He has used in OAC, such as Jim Duffecy, George Bremner and Noel Gibson.
One interesting assessment, made of OAC during this time, was that OAC took young people who others thought had no potential, and gave them an opportunity. Some of these are now outstanding leaders in the Christian community.
The gospel hasn't changed but some of our methods have. The need to go out with the gospel is as great, if not greater today than ever before. We want to work hand in hand with the church to continue the task into the next 50 years.
