This beautiful Caribbean island is the largest of the former British island colonies. Operation World tells us the country has sunk into a morass of social and economic problems that appear insoluble. Half the male population are drug users. Christianity is numerically strong, but spiritually weak.
Keith Phillips has been preaching on the streets of the island and teaching in schools for over 20 years. His OAC ministry is mentioned in OW as the most significant youth outreach in the country, having reached over one million. Pray that these kids will turn from the evil which surrounds them to the living saviour!
Certainly brothers and sisters it is a time to give thanks.
Reviewing the past year with all its struggles and heartaches if it hadnt been for the lord who have been on our side, we know not would have been, but in spite of everthing God is still in charge and is working. Let me give you a quick review of the past months.
Jan: January I think was the best month of ministry. I did 19 schools reaching over thirteen thousand kids plus others that Steve Mitchell and Ronald Hamilton did while with me.
Feb: 8 schools with 4352 kids. I was away at a conference part of the month.
Mar: I did 7 school with a approximately 5700 kids which heard a clear presentation of the gospel.
April: Easter season yet a did 4 schools with 4800 kids.
May: May is known as child month I did 11 schools with 5530 kids
June: Month of exams yet I was able to do 7 school with some 5570 kids.
Prison: The prison ministry continue to strive, some inmates have completed up to 5 courses. Some have been release and are still continuing. How we give God thanks for these open doors and open hearts. I was able to preach and showed films in other prisons also. My greatest ministry is the schools thats where most of the problems lies. I wish I could go there more often. I met a teacher in the food store who informed me that her grade 4 students did not know me, Thats how long I hadnt gone back to that school, so by the following week I had to present my self there and the principal said that I had to repent for taking such long time to return. God is using this ministry beyond my comprehension. The seeds that are sown in the hearts of those kids by the grace of God do bring forth fruits and many do remain. I preach at a church recently and as I was on my way out a young man met me out side and said they call you Mr. Phillips but I know you as uncle Keith it was 7 years ago you came to my school and I gave my heart to the lord. Now he is heavily involve in the programme of his church.
Thank you all for praying and giving so that I can grow. On the behalf of my family and I HAVE A BLESSSED CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
MATT,1:21 ' JESUS'
