This beautiful Caribbean island is the largest of the former British island colonies. Operation World tells us the country has sunk into a morass of social and economic problems that appear insoluble. Half the male population are drug users. A recent article in The Economist highlights some of the crime related problems. Christianity is numerically strong, but spiritually weak.

OACI - 25 years in Jamaica

Keith Phillips has been preaching on the streets of the island and teaching in schools for 25 years. Celebrations were held at the end of May, 2010. Keith's OAC ministry is mentioned in Operation World as the most significant youth outreach in the country, having reached over one million. Pray that these kids will turn from the evil which surrounds them to the living saviour!

A TYPICAL YEAR IN REVIEW - 2004

Jamaica School Outside
'In everything give thanks for this is the will of God ' ( 1Thes 5:18 )

Certainly brothers and sisters it is a time to give thanks. Reviewing the past year with all its struggles and heartaches if it had’nt been for the lord who have been on our side, we know not would have been, but in spite of everthing God is still in charge and is working. Let me give you a quick review of the past months.
Jan: January I think was the best month of ministry. I did 19 schools reaching over thirteen thousand kids plus others that Steve Mitchell and Ronald Hamilton did while with me.
Feb: 8 schools with 4352 kids. I was away at a conference part of the month.
Mar: I did 7 school with a approximately 5700 kids which heard a clear presentation of the gospel.
April: Easter season yet a did 4 schools with 4800 kids.
May: May is known as child month I did 11 schools with 5530 kids
June: Month of exams yet I was able to do 7 school with some 5570 kids.

Jamaica School Inside
July: Only 1 school with 80 kids, because of summer holidays. The rest of the month and August were seminar and vbs ( vocation bible school ) we say more than 30 of those kids praying to trust christ as their saviour, and the church is doing its best to nurture them. I mention Paulette Bryan who took the seminar in July she has taken it as far as the United state of America to minister and also taught others to use the sketch board for ministry, PTL.
Sept: The month of hurricane. God has spared us the worse at the last moment. Scientist are baffled but we know it was the hand of the lord through the prayers of the saints. I still was able to minister in 2 schools with 2000 kids. In everything give thanks.
Oct: Cleaning up month from all the hurricane. Many of the schools were damaged and many were used for shelter still I was able to do 9 devotions with 8000 kids.
Nov: I did 14 schools with approximately 7000 kids. In addition to these schools I have conducted over 20 rallies 6 open-air meetings, 28 visits to the pre-natal clinics where we were able to minister to over 700 expectant mothers and have seen scores of them praying to trust christ as savour and lord. One of the expectant mother’s remembered me from her primary school days.

Prison: The prison ministry continue to strive, some inmates have completed up to 5 courses. Some have been release and are still continuing. How we give God thanks for these open doors and open hearts. I was able to preach and showed films in other prisons also. My greatest ministry is the schools that’s where most of the problems lies. I wish I could go there more often. I met a teacher in the food store who informed me that her grade 4 students did not know me, That’s how long I had’nt gone back to that school, so by the following week I had to present my self there and the principal said that I had to repent for taking such long time to return. God is using this ministry beyond my comprehension. The seeds that are sown in the hearts of those kids by the grace of God do bring forth fruits and many do remain. I preach at a church recently and as I was on my way out a young man met me out side and said they call you Mr. Phillips but I know you as uncle Keith it was 7 years ago you came to my school and I gave my heart to the lord. Now he is heavily involve in the programme of his church.

Thank you all for praying and giving so that I can grow. On the behalf of my family and I HAVE A BLESSSED CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
